Yesterday, the final race of the Michelin Pilot Challenge concluded at Road Atlanta on Friday, October 2nd.
Heading into the race, the No.23 Koch-Copeland Motorsport had pole position for the GS class, while the TCR class was being lead by No.93 Montreal Motorsport Group.
The final results of the Fox Factory 120 had No.14 Circle H Racing as the overall winner while the TCR class had No.33 Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb Agajanian crossing the finish line first.
BMW finished the season strong in the GS class represented by the No.27 Autotechnic Racing coming in first for the championship battle and No.95 Turner Motorsport finishing in second. Following in third for the GS class is Ford Racing with the No.13 Mccumbee Mcaleer Racing.
For TCR we have a 1-2 finish for Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb Agajanian. In first was the No.33 and in second was the No.76. After a close battle the No.93 Montreal Motorsport Group took the third position for the championship.
While drivers are heading into the off-season, many teams are already looking forward to the 2027 season. With the full schedule being announced earlier this year, one of the most notable changes is the return to Lime Rock for the Michelin Pilot Challenge. It has been quite a few years since the last time IMSA has raced at the fan-favorite track and many drivers are looking forward to the return!
Montreal Motorsport Drivers LP Montour and Karl Wittmer are two drivers weighing in on the return to Limerock. While this will be the first time Montour will be driving there, Wittmer is excited for the return. “I love it, It’s nicknamed Bull Ring for a reason, right?… It’s like high pace, high octane, and the fans are great”
The Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock is being added to the schedule as the second to last race of the year and will be a 2 hour long race. The full Michelin Pilot Challenge schedule is below for the 2027 season.
